OrcaSlicer 2.5.0 Launches with Python Plugins, Color Mixing and Belt Printer Support
OrcaSlicer released the stable version of 2.5.0 on November 7, 2026, bringing Python plugins, color mixing, belt printer support and new tools for multi-head printing. Downloads are available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
More printing workflows in one slicer
The release adds simultaneous printing of two to four parts on compatible IDEX and IQEX machines. It also introduces texture displacement for creating physical surface textures and an experimental Design tab for parametric parts. Color mixing expands the available color workflows using loaded filaments, but results remain dependent on the printer, materials and settings.
Toolhead collision volumes help keep arrangement, brims and travel paths clear of obstacles such as tool docks and bed clips. These features broaden the slicer's usefulness across different machine designs; they do not establish compatibility with every printer or independently verified print quality.
Plugins and settings to check
Python plugins can extend the interface and slicing workflow. The developers caution that plugin permissions are not a security sandbox, so users should install only trusted plugins. Existing users should also check their Bambu Lab process presets: presets inheriting the default sparse infill pattern may now use Grid instead of Cross Hatch.
