Bambu Lab Plans Mixed-Nozzle Printing for H2D, H2C and X2D
Bambu Lab announced on November 3, 2026, that it is developing mixed-nozzle printing for the H2D, H2C and X2D. The planned software updates will allow nozzles with different opening sizes to work on a single part, potentially combining fine detail with faster printing of larger sections.
Rollout depends on printer configuration
Without a Filament Track Switch installed, Bambu Lab estimates support will arrive for the H2D in November 2026 and for the H2C and X2D in February 2027. With a Filament Track Switch, the estimated dates move to February 2027 for the H2D and March 2027 for the H2C and X2D.
The company says these printers use different AMS configurations from the H3C, requiring changes to slicing logic and printing parameters. The announcement provides a development roadmap rather than confirmation of an available update. Release dates remain estimates, and no measured speed or quality improvements are established by the announcement.
