Sovol M1D Moves from Kickstarter to $1,499 Store Preorders

Following the close of its Kickstarter campaign on August 27, 2026, Sovol is accepting M1D preorders through its online store. The US listing prices the Essential version at $1,499, with estimated shipping between late December and early January. This is a preorder listing rather than immediate stock.

How the price compares with Kickstarter

The Essential version was offered at $1,299 under the campaign's Super Early Bird pricing. The current store price is $200 higher, approximately 15%. Eligible VIP backers received an additional $100 refund, bringing their effective printer price to $1,199. The current preorder is $300 higher than that offer, approximately 25%. Campaign shipping was charged separately, so these comparisons exclude delivery costs and applicable taxes.

The Advanced version was offered at $1,599 Super Early Bird or $1,499 after the eligible VIP refund. The current $1,499 Essential listing should not be confused with that earlier Advanced offer.

Core specifications remain consistent

The current listing retains one fixed toolhead and six interchangeable heads, supporting up to seven colors or materials. Copy and mirror modes and five-second tool changes were already advertised during the campaign. The available information does not establish a new hardware revision for store preorders.

The build volume is 300 × 300 × 350 mm with a single head or the six interchangeable heads, reducing to 240 × 300 × 350 mm when using all seven. Standard temperature limits remain 300°C for the nozzle and 100°C for the bed. Essential is open-frame; Advanced adds an enclosure and active chamber heating up to 60°C.

Material and delivery limitations

Sovol's campaign FAQ describes a 350°C hotend kit as a planned optional upgrade, not standard equipment. The standard printer is not officially rated for PPS or PPS-CF. The shipping estimate for new store orders does not establish a delay to existing Kickstarter pledges. Advertised tool-change speed, waste reduction and material compatibility remain manufacturer claims rather than independently verified results in this report.
